Ghana’s senior women’s national team, Black Queens are rumoured to have decided to boycott their upcoming 2024 Paris Olympic Games qualifying match against Zambia on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

This according to reports, is as a result of their unpaid bonuses.

Despite the excellent performance of coach Nora Hauptle’s team, they are yet to receive their bonuses for the qualifying games played, with the players reportedly owed about $7,500.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Black Queens Management Committee, Gifty Oware-Mensah, recently disclosed that they had promised to pay the bonuses before the Zambia match on Friday.

In spite of the latest development, 21 players were present yesterday at the Accra Sports Stadium for training ahead of the game.

The winner of the two-legged matchup between Ghana and Zambia will face either Tunisia or Morocco in the final round of the qualifiers for a spot in Paris.
