Residents of Fawoade in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region were thrown into a state of shock when news broke that a two children have lost their lives after they allegedly got locked up in a parked car.

The kids, Blessed Yiedie Boadu and Emmanuel, aged 2 and 4 respectively suffocated after they allegedly locked themselves in the trunk of the Pastor’s car parked close to the church  during the Easter Sunday church service.

The car, a KIA four-wheel drive with registration number ER – 201 – 13 belonged to the head pastor of Light Salvation Ministry, Prophet Evans K. Oppong,  International.

Mother of one of the victims told Silver FM her child came over to her during the adult church service but later went out to play with friends in the children service as usual.

After waiting for hours without hearing from the children who usually come back after playing, the mother and some members of the church became apprehensive and mounted a search for them.

The matter came to light after the said pastor decided to pick his car after church service and a long search for the children.

To the Pastor’s dismay the bodies of Blessed and Emmanuel were discovered unconscious in the trunk of his car, which had been parked for washing at the premises and so he quickly informed the families of the boys.

It is reported that the kids allegedly managed to get inside the trunk of the vehicle while playing, and they could not come out of the tinted window glassed car since all doors got jammed.

The children were immediately rushed to Mamponteng Hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival. The bodies have since been deposited at the Mount Zion morgue awaiting autopsy.

One of the mothers is a regular member of the church whiles the other mother visited the church on the day that sad incident took place.
