A/R: 20-year old boy stabbed to death over plastic chair argument in Ashtown

A 20-year-old man has been stabbed to death following a fight over a plastic chair at Ashanti New Town in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region.

The victim, identified as Kwadwo Bright, was attacked on Thursday by his friend, 21-year-old Baker, who is currently on the run, eyewitnesses told reporters.

According to the victim’s mother, Georgina Yeboah, the altercation began at a snooker game center when her son and the suspect clashed over a chair. Although the matter was initially resolved, the suspect later confronted Bright and stabbed him in the neck.

“I heard people screaming about a young man being stabbed and rushed to the scene, only to find my son in a critical condition,” Mrs. Yeboah recounted.

Bright was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The police have taken over the case and launched a manhunt for the suspect. Investigations are ongoing.
