A/R: Chief allegedly implicated in Galamsey activities at Nyinawusu

In an investigation carried out by a Kumasi – based Journalist who spoke to some residents in the area, Nana Osei Tutu has sold a family land to one man, identified as an NPP coordinator for that area to do illegal mining.

According to them, some members of the family reported the case to Toase Chief’s palace.

The Chief, Nana Osei Tutu then made a general call to the public to stop engaging in illegal mining, a directive which he said was coming from Nana Yim Awere Ababio, the Occupant of the Toase stool.

The information said Nana Osei Tutu would lose his stool if he’s found engaging in Galamsey which has the potential of destroying water bodies and arable farmlands as he’s been warned by Toasehene Nana Yim Awere Ababio.

The investigation has further revealed that the Chief and coordinator are the main people behind illegal mining activities in the town, but have ordered some miners to stop.
