Concern Citizens of Abuakwa North, on Monday, October 16, protested on the streets of New Tafo and Anyinasin to demand bad roads in the community be fixed.
The group was led by Mr. Wilson Dakudze and Mr. Kofi Asante, a polling station executive at Anyinasin Methodist Primary.
The group displaced placards with inscriptions such as, Where is our share of the road, Remember and keep your promises Mr president, Is Anyinasin not a party of Ghana? Why Mr president? Abuakwa North paa nie!!!!!!, Bo Ne B3n Nkuaa, Abuakwa North deserves Better, and among others
The group complained that, over the years, their road network had deteriorated and that successive governments led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who started his political career in the constituency, have failed to listen to their concerns, thereby creating untold hardships in Abuakwa North.
The deplorable road condition from Opass Junction to Old Tafo Junction, from Old Tafo to Anyinasin, and from Crig to Nobi has caused a lot of damage to human life and properties, especially during heavy rains, and to social and economic life.
There have been so many robbery cases on the Anyinasin due to the deplorable state of the roads. Driving at night is incredibly challenging and unsafe because of the dreadful roads.
In cases of medical and critical emergencies, the condition of the roads constitutes an imminent danger that could prevent the police and emergency responders from reaching distressed individuals promptly.
“We are therefore sending this signal to the president and the Party NPP that they should not think Abuakwa North is the stronghold of the NPP so neither the road is constructed or not we are going to vote for them, this time we shall vote base on achievement and development”
“Abuakwa North shares boundaries with the Abuakwa blocks and always delays in responding to our pleas, why? The vice president was here during their delegates conference and promised to discuss with the road minister Hon Amoako Atta, and yet we’ve heard nothing. All that we are saying is Abuakwa North deserves Better from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration”.
