The Coalition of Aggrieved Former Workers of Zoomlion Ghana Limited (CAFWOZ) in the Assin North and Assin Central have threatened a massive demonstration against Zoomlion Ghana Limited for failing to pay their two years salary arrears.

The cleaners, mostly women, who earn between GH₵100.00 and GH₵200.00 a month to sweep streets, markets and the central business districts across the country complained about neglect and hardship for the past two years.

The disgruntled workers said the authorities of the firm have done nothing about the situation after several complaints.

According to the aggrieved staff, they were rather laid off after constantly mounting pressure on Zoomlion Company to pay them their salary arrears.

“We must eat and feed our families. For the leaders who are keeping our monies. They don’t want to pay us but rather want to replace us with new recruits. Some of us are widows and breastfeeding mothers. We will demonstrate against them till they pay us our two years salaries,” they threatened.

They reiterated that the former boss of Zoomlion in Assin Fosu, Mr. Ebenezer Thompson and the current supervisor, Mr. George Bismark Arhin are the cause of their predicaments.

The group noted that they are left with no option than to stage a demonstration to register their displeasure over the delayed payment of their two years salaries.
