Canal+ to launch high-speed fibre internet in Ghana

Canal+, a French telecom and media giant, is launching high-speed fibre internet services in Ghana through its subsidiary Vivendi Africa (GVA).

The service, expected to offer unlimited, reliable broadband at “revolutionary prices,” will initially cover Accra and Kumasi. This move aims to disrupt Ghana’s broadband market, currently dominated by MTN, Vodafone, and Teledata, and provide affordable internet access to households and businesses .

Key Features:

– High-Speed Fibre Internet: GVA’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) technology ensures ultra-fast internet speeds.

– Unlimited Broadband: Plans promise unlimited internet access without data caps.

– Revolutionary Prices: Competitive pricing strategy to attract customers.

Minister for Communications, Samuel Nartey George, welcomes the investment, emphasizing the government’s commitment to lowering data costs and expanding fibre connectivity. The government is ready to support genuine investors to enhance Ghana’s digital infrastructure.
