The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, visited various units under the Support Services Command in Burma Camp on Thursday, 13 June 2024.
During his visit, Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah was briefed at the Command Headquarters (HQ) on the logistics, administrative and operational matters, as well as the challenges facing the Command.
He subsequently toured the Ghana Military Police HQ, Base Workshop, Electrical, Mechanical and Engineering HQ, the Technical Training School and Base Supply Depot.
The CDS assured personnel in the aforementioned Units of his support in addressing their challenges. For the sewage problem at the Arakan Medical Centre, the CDS said it would be resolved as part of the ongoing replacement of all sewage lines in Burma Camp.
He reiterated that the 160-bed accommodation unit for Base Ordinance Depot behind El- Wak Stadium would also be completed quickly to solve troop accommodation problems.
Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah then inspected the abandoned Military Police headquarters and pledged to help complete the project. Additionally, he promised to renovate the butchery at the Base Supply Depot.
