Newly appointed Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton has named his 25-man squad ahead of Ghana’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The senior national team is in line to play Angola twice this month, as they look to qualify for the 2023 AFCON, set be held in Cote D’Ivoire in January, 2024.
Hughton was appointed as the manager February this year, and his first call up has included Joseph Painstil, who missed out on the Black Stars squad for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot, who also did not make it to Qatar due to injury, has made a return to the squad, including Majeed Ashimeru, Patrick Kpozo and Edmund Addo.
However, Kotoko’s goalkeeper, Ibrahim Danlad, Baba Rahaman and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku did not make the squad.
