Ghana and Turkey are making arrangements to transport the remains of Ghana soccer star Christian Atsu to Ghana for burial.

The burial follows news of the discovery of the Black Stars player’s body in the rubble of his apartment.

This was contained in a release issued by Ghana’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.

“The elder brother and twin sister of Christian Atsu and an officer of the Embassy were present at the site when the body was recovered,” the release said.

It extended government’s condolences to the  widow and family of the 31-year-old Ghanaian winger.

The former Chelsea and Newcastle player’s body was found on Saturday, February 18, his agent confirmed.

His Turkish Super League club Hatayspor, in an official statement, said there were no words to describe their sadness.
