The Accra High Court, presided over by Her Ladyship Justice Mary Maame Ekue Yanzuh, has ordered the accused persons in the ongoing case involving the alleged circulation of nude images of a prophet to file their witness statements ahead of the next hearing.
The court also issued a warrant instructing the prison authorities to produce the first accused, Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, in court at every sitting. This follows a formal request from the prosecution for a standing production order.
Nana Agradaa, founder of Heaven Way Champions International Ministry, is facing charges including possession of obscene material and multiple counts of distributing intimate images without consent.
Her legal team, led by Richard Asare Baffour, urged the court to postpone the ruling on the submission of no case to allow her to be physically present.
“She is in lawful custody. Our prayer is for the ruling to be deferred and for an order to be made for her to be brought to court,” Baffour submitted during proceedings on Monday, July 7, 2025.
Despite the plea, Justice Yanzuh proceeded to deliver her ruling in the absence of the accused, concluding that the prosecution had established a prima facie case.
The defence was therefore directed to open their case by filing relevant witness statements.
In addition to Nana Agradaa, three others—Enoch Owusu Kissi, Charles Omane, and Emmanuel Kofi Gyasi—are also standing trial for abetment in the alleged non-consensual sharing of intimate images. They are expected to open their defence alongside the first accused.
The matter has been adjourned to July 30, 2025, for a case management conference.
