Dada KD was found unconscious in his room – Manager

Artiste Manager for Dada KD, King Pee has disclosed the circumstances leading to the veteran high life singer’s sudden demise.

King Pee, who spoke in an exclusive interview with Barimah Atuobi Yiadom on Republic FM’s ‘Ghana This Week’ in Nkawkaw on Saturday, May 17, indicated that the latter had no ill- health indicators.

During the interview, Pee underscored any ill- health implications, citing the latter’s recent show abroad. Dada KD had just returned from a show abroad on Tuesday, May, 13, 2025.

He was, however, scheduled to for another show in London next week until death laid its icy cold hands on him.

“He wasn’t sick. There was nothing wrong with him. We had talked few hours ago. We only got to find him unconscious in his bedroom. He has returned from show abroad. He was preparing for another in London next week. It happened in the evening at SDA hospital in Gbawe”, Pee told Barima Atuobi Yiadom.

Dada KD, born Nana Kwaku Duah was one of Ghana’s favorite high life singers’. KD has stayed abroad for more than 22 years. During his stay abroad, he believed that music was a full time business, therefore all his attention was directed to making music. Dada KD has released over seven albums during his stay abroad excluding that which he was in Ghana.

His recent appearance was when he visited his family at Worcester, Massachusetts in the United States of America. He died at 56.

His demise has sent shock waves across the showbiz fraternity in Ghana. According to his King Pee, his family is yet to make a public pronouncement to paveway for the necessary arrangements to begin.

Dada KD will be remembered for his hit songs such as ‘Fatia fata Nkrumah and Odo mu anigye, Ene menye, Honey love and my heart goes boom’.
