Academic activities at Galilea M/A 1 Junior High School in the Ga South Municipality were suspended following the discovery of a deceased individual in one of the classrooms.
The identity of the deceased person is unknown.
The deceased was found early in the morning as students were arriving for school.
He was found in a mosquito net in the classroom.
A teacher at the school, Mr Kwarteng, disclosed to the media that some students had seen him on Monday. When confronted, he claimed to be sick.
The teacher added that the situation has traumatised the pupils in the school.
Meanwhile, the Chairman for the Landlord Association in the area, Mr Kwesi Nyarko, lamented that miscreants, smokers, and sex workers have taken over the school.
He stated that pupils return from the weekend to find human excreta on their desks, used condoms, and other disgusting items left behind by those who use their classrooms for unauthorised activities.
Mr Nyarko added that they made efforts to have security guards deployed to the area under the previous government, but their efforts proved futile.
