Visions
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the Republic Press at his palace on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, among many of the visions of the new custodian of the Nsawam traditional council are unity, health, education, and trade.
Bearing the new royal name, Nana Osae Mensah I pledged to focus on education and health. Nana Osae Mensah has also pledged to set up an educational fund to support brilliant but needy children to further their education at the tertiary level.
Plans are documented to ensure that Nsawam gets a teacher and nursing training college to cater for the inhabitants of the area. One major focus will also be the enabling environment for trade. Nana Osae Mensah I have said that empowerment programmes will be held for traders in the area to give a vivid understanding of their trade specialisations.
For the past 20 years without a traditional authority in the area, Nana Osae Mensah has revealed that tradition and customs have lost their full potential and has therefore reassured that a new rejuvenation euphoria will be created, especially with respect to the Odwira celebrations, to bring back the customs and traditions to the Nsawam land. Nana Osae Mensah I will pay homage to the Aburihene Nana Otoobour Gyan Kwasi, who has been the overall head of authority of the Aburi traditional council, which supervises the royal rulership in Aburi.
In his speech, he advised the youth to desist from engaging in illicit drugs, as it will only deter them from reaching their potential goals. He has further advised that the youth remain respectful and ensure that there’s orderliness in the area. He said he’s been inspired to serve his people, and therefore, he’s always ready to welcome everyone to contribute their quota to his leadership to propel a prosperous Nsawam.
Nana Osae Mensah I expressed his profound gratitude to the Aburihene, His Royal Highness Nana Otoobour Gyan Kwasi, for reposing confidence in him to lead his people in Nsawam.
