Students, staff, and alumni of Akroso Senior High Technical School (AKROSEC) in the Asene Manso Akroso district of the Eastern region have pleaded with the government, institutions, and philanthropists to assist them with the infrastructure deficit.
According to them, the current state of the school’s infrastructure makes studying difficult for students.
Mr. Alex Boateng Attafuah, the assistant headmaster of administration, told the media that one of the school’s problems is a lack of dormitory rooms for girls.
He also stated that the school does not have enough desks in its classrooms, making it difficult for students to study because two students must share a single desk or sit side by side on dining hall benches.
He also stated that the school requires additional bungalows to accommodate their teaching staff so that they can live on campus and supervise the boarding students properly.
Mr. Alex Boateng Attafuah expressed his grievances to the media after the old students body of Akroso Senior High Technical School organised a law-abiding citizen orientation for students on the school campus.
Mr. Isaac Kojo Obeng Amunti, president of Akroso Senior High Technical School’s old students association, joined the school’s cry and urged the government and institutions to help by providing desks and other infrastructure needed to improve quality education.
Some Akroso Senior High Technical School students also spoke to the media, lamenting the lack of school infrastructure and expressing gratitude to their old students association for their massive and timely intervention support.
