This decision comes in light of her passing, despite her image and party logo still appearing on the ballot paper.

In an official statement signed by Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman for Operations, the EC clarified that any votes cast in favour of Madam Akua Donkor will be categorized as rejected ballots. These votes will not be included in the tally of valid votes.

The EC has communicated this directive to its permanent and temporary staff as well as the representatives of all presidential candidates.

Members of the general public have also been urged to take note of this important update.
