Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has praised his team for their mentality in coming down from behind to beat Central African Republic in their FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifying match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Monday night.
Ghana showed resilience as they fought to overturn a 2-1 deficit in the second half of the game to grab all three points.
Goals from Jordan Ayew and Fatawu Issahaku completed the comeback on the night for the Black Stars.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Otto Addo commended his side for the positive mentality.
“For me, the positives stand over the negatives and in the second half, how we came back, how Jordan scored, and this is one thing that I think we have to mention positive spirit.
“Despite being behind away in Mali and now here again, to be mentally strong to come back, and this is also a reason also why I thank Kumasi because even though were behind, they were supporting us and as I said, big thanks to the team for having this mentality and team spirit to come back after you are down,” he said.
He added “It’s so difficult because our players are coming from all different parts of Europe, and we come together and then we have to find the same ideas and it is very difficult. I’m very proud of the boys that they delivered in the second half.”
The victory puts Ghana top of Group I with 9 points with Comoros and Madagascar set to play on Tuesday.
