The Ministry of Food and Agriculture, through the Tree Crop Development Authority, is set to host the Sixth International Council of Ministers’ Conference on Cashew (CICC) and Cashew Fair 2024.
This was announced by the Deputy Chief Executive, Mr. Yaw Oteng at a press engagement at the Ministry.
The conference slated for the 16th to 17th April 2024 is under the theme “Projecting the Cashew Sector through Local Consumption, Value Addition, and Job Creation,” the event will take place at the Kempinski Hotel and the Children’s Park, respectively.
By hosting these prestigious gatherings, Ghana demonstrates its commitment to the development of the cashew sector and its potential for economic and social growth. The conference will provide a platform for knowledge sharing, innovation, and discussions on the cashew value chain, while also showcasing Ghana’s progress and attracting potential investors.
The Cashew Research Dialogue will bring together experts and researchers from member countries to discuss achievements, identify research gaps, and facilitate cross-learning among the scientific community. This will ultimately inform policy decisions and investment needs in the sector. The Cashew Expo and Exhibition will promote local consumption, value addition, and job creation, benefiting both producers and consumers.
Ghana’s potential to host a research and training center for member countries in Africa is also a significant opportunity for capacity building and further development of the cashew sector. Overall, these events will contribute to raising awareness and fostering growth within the cashew industry, benefiting not only Ghana but also its international partners and the global community.
