The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has commissioned the first set of floodlights at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram in the Greater Accra Region.
Following the installation of the floodlights, the GFA President, Kurt Okraku, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 commissioned the project after it was handed to the FA by the manufacturer, Greenfield’s BV.
The project was funded under the FIFA Forward Programme which is aimed at improving the way football is developed and supported across the globe.
Mr. Okraku expressed his gratitude to FIFA for the support and emphasized that it signifies the confidence FIFA has in Ghana’s FA.
“The installation of this first set of floodlights means that training programs at the Centre can be held both during the day and at night. Our players in camp can train at night and refereeing and coaching training programs can also extend into the evening,” said Okraku.
“I am indeed very happy that this dream to enhance our facility at Prampram is gradually being realized.”
He underlined his dedication to developing the center, stating that preparations are advanced for the building of a 40-bed hotel that would serve as the home base for all national teams.
