A preacher accused of fondling a woman and sticking his finger into her vagina received a warning from an Adentan Circuit Court to stop doing so.
According to GNA, Peter Mensah is claimed to have anointed the woman with Borges oil in order to free her from a “spiritual marriage.”
Peter gave a negative response when the court questioned if he would be pleased if one of his three daughters was subjected to such an act.
Mensah was warned by the Judge, Mrs. Sedinam Awo Balokah, to stop sinning.
The accused would not be released, the judge warned, if he continued with such behaviour.
When found guilty, the Judge said that such an act would result in a prison sentence.
Prosecuting Superintendent Patience Mario informed the court that the complainant was not present and that Police had received a letter of withdrawal in relation to the matter, which led to the court’s caution.
The accused informed the court that the victim, who was 25 years old, had received compensation after the situation had been handled by certain elders.
Mensah, a carpenter as well, was accused of indecent assault.
The complainant and the accused are both residents of Accra, according to information obtained by the GNA.
At around 8:30 am on August 11 of this year, the accused, pretending to pray for the complainant, enticed her into his room and gave her a spray that made her feel weak and powerless.
The accuser reportedly stripped the complainant and covered her in Borges oil. In order to exorcise an evil spirit from the plaintiff, the accused put his fingers inside her vagina.
Following the incident, the complainant reported the incident to the police, who then detained the accused. From him, a warning statement was collected.
