Accra Hearts of Oak on Saturday evening recorded a victory over Karela United at the Accra Sports after three straight losses in the Premier League.
The Phobians came back from behind to clinch a 3-1 victory after they struggled at the beginning of the game.
The visitors had taken the lead 3 minutes into the start, with Humid Dafie calmly slotting in the ball into the top right corner of the post with a half volley after a long throw-in was sent into the 18-yard box.
Hearts came back into the game after going down early, creating numerous chances in search of the equalizer.
With continuous pressure on the away side, Linda Mtange’s cross from the right side found its way to Hamza Issah, who tapped it in to tie the score in the 27th minute.
It was a dominant display from Hearts, as they kept control of the game to end the first half in a draw.
After the break, the Phobians maintained their momentum and took the lead in the 63rd minute through a powerful long-range shot from substitute Salim Adams into the top right corner of the post.
Just as the game was about to end, Hamza Issah sealed the win for Hearst, adding the third goal from the spot to get a brace in the game.
The result is crucial to the Phobians, as they move to 10th on the table with 35 points.
At the Theater of Dream in Dawu, Dreams FC compounded the problems of Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the season, after they beat them 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The Porcupine Warriors had come into the game, and seeking to end their winless streak in six games
It was a disappointing afternoon for Kotoko, as Dreams FC took the lead in the 25th minute through Sylvester Simba, whose deflected shot beat goalkeeper, Ibrahim Danlad.
Kotoko pushed for the equalizer but could not do enough in the final third of the pitch to bring them level going into the break.
Nineteen minutes after the break, the home side doubled their lead through Darrick Atta Agyei to grab all three points.
The results leave Kotoko in 11th position with 33 points, and just three points away from relegation.
