The Deputy Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande has questioned government on the feasibility and efficacy of the recently launched Performance tracker on the livelihood of Ghanaians.
During an interview with Citi News, the opposition party’s Deputy Secretary slammed the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia-led government for failing to listen to Ghanaians’ pleas and instead implementing a tracker that is unrelated to citizens’ welfare.
“How will the performance [tracker] impact the ordinary Ghanaian who has not eaten in the last 24 hours? How would that impact the life of an old lady who is helpless but cannot get health care and government intervention?”, Gbande critiqued.
He claimed that if the government is performing well, a performance tracker is unnecessary to ensure accountability for government projects.
“So clearly, these are people who continue to lie. They continue to demonstrate that they don’t care about the ordinary Ghanaian. Because if the government performs well, you don’t need a tracker to showcase your performance, the people of Ghana will know.”
