The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Member of Parliament for Asutifi South in the Ahafo Region, Collins Dauda for his alleged involvement in a violent incident which occurred in one of the limited voter registration centres in the constituency.
The disturbances, which occurred on Saturday, May 11, led to one person sustaining an injury and as a result, hospitalized for treatment.
A statement by the Police said they are on manhunt for other suspects involved in the incident.
A separate statement by the Police earlier condemned all acts of violence in registration centres across the country, cautioning the public to desist from acts which will flout the law.
It noted that they had made a number of arrests already, and is currently investigating all the incidents.
