Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been knocked out of the MTN FA Cup after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Karela United at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Both teams struggled for the first 45 minutes, unable to find the back of the net.
But Karela after having a poor start took the lead just two minutes after the break, with Solomon Aboagye scoring from a close-range effort.
Kotoko’s effort to get the equaliser could not materialise, as Karela added the second goal in the 65th minute to seal the victory for Abubakari Damba’s side.
The win means Karela progresses into the quarter-final stage of the competition.
