Residents of Nkwanta in the Nkwanta South Municipality in the Oti Region were thrown into a state of shock when a man identified as Zongo Lee was found dead at the main market.
According to reports, the deceased, ‘Zongo Lee’ was found lying motionless and unwounded in the early hours of Friday, November 11, 2022, at the main market.
Information gathered indicates that the marketplace has gained notoriety for immoral activities at night.
In an interview, some eyewitnesses and traders in the area said, the victim has engaged in drug abuse leading to his untimely death due to the notoriety of the area.
The body has been conveyed to the morgue by the Nkwanta police command.
Meanwhile, traders at the market are appealing to the police to intensify security surveillance to eradicate the notorious and immoral activities at night, especially in the market.
