The Oti Regional Minister, Hon. John Kojo Gyapong, has taken a significant step towards securing land for the construction of a military barracks in the Oti Region. The Minister paid a courtesy call on Nana Dasebre Atamafuwiese Bonja II, the overlord of Chonke traditional area, to advance their earlier discussions on the project.
Accompanied by a team of surveyors, the Minister visited the proposed site for the military barracks, where they will be conducting technical assessments throughout the week. The surveyors will carry out necessary surveys and evaluations to facilitate the construction process.
During his visit, Hon. Gyapong informed Nana Dasebre of the President’s vision to establish military bases in regions without one, to strengthen national security and support regional growth. The Oti Region has been earmarked for this important project, and the current exercise represents the initial steps towards bringing it to fruition.
The Minister expressed his sincere appreciation to Nana Dasebre and the entire traditional council for their warm reception and continuous cooperation, stating that their support is crucial to securing this development for the region.
The construction of a military barracks in the Oti Region is expected to enhance national security, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth in the region.
