Ghana’s 4x100m men’s relay team have secured qualification to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris after winning Heat 2 on Day 2 of the World Relays held in the Bahamas.
This comes after the team were disqualified in Heat One on the opening day in the Bahamas on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the team in a spirited performance, took their chance in the second heat on Monday dawn, beating their Nigerian counterparts to the first spot with 38.29 secs.
Nigeria, who had beaten Ghana in Accra this year for the gold medal in the 2023 African Games, came second behind Ghana with a time of 38.57sec.
The team, represented by Benjamin Azamati, Joseph Paul Amoah, Ibrahim Fuseini and Isaac Botsio will be the first batch of Ghanaian athletes to book a place in the 2024 Olympic Games.
