Security expert and Chief Executive officer for security warehouse, Dr. Adam Bonaa has called on the President Akufo-Addo to as a matter of urgency make a strategic security changes in the country’s defense system to avert a possible terrorism attack.
Dr. Adam Bonaa who was speaking to Kwame Koranteng on Republic FM on a contribution to the recent terrorism threats, stated emphatically that it will be wise for the President to make changes to the structure of the country’s security because some persons have served well and exhausted their relevance.
Listing some crucial points that he would like to phase out to the President if he had the opportunity, Dr. Adam Bonaa listed 4 key points that according to him, can help address the possibility of terrorists coming to the country.
He stated that firstly, it will be necessary to make a quick change in the security architecture in the country.
“If I had the opportunity to meet the president, I will tell him to make changes to the security architecture. Some persons have served and they’re tired, they have to go so others will come in and this is how nations are ran when it comes to building a country but the one thins is the mentality. Criminology will tell you that usually when you do those changes, such terrorists will retreat because they don’t know the nature of the new strategy of the person“.
Dr. Bonaa added that, unemployment can also trigger the youth into indulging or getting themselves recruited into such terrorists organizations due to lack of jobs.
“Additionally, I will ponder on unemployment with the President. The Youth want to work but unfortunately, there’s none”.
He further touched on the introduction of the Fixthecountry movements whom has recently been heard in the news purported to be allow to go on armed demonstration.
“Apart from that, with the recent Fixthecountry movements who says we should allow them go on demonstration with arms and these are some of the challenges our President must call the security agencies to the round table, brief them to monitor all these people who are filled with crazy ideas because we cannot allow ourselves to set loose considering where we have gotten to and so as far as I’m concerned these are the things the leadership should be dealt with”.
However, he further suggested that corruption should be one of the biggest problems the President must tackle to avert the anger in the youth considering huge sums of money some government officials steal from the country
“Corruption and greed. One person can take huge sums of money from the state and they’re gone freely and when these things happen, the masses do not have confidence and trust in the setup of this country”.
Dr. Adam Bonaa advised that the youth should not allow themselves to swindled into believing that military regime is better than the democracy we are enjoying today.
