The Union of Trainee Nurses and Midwives, Ghana (UTNMG), has extended warm congratulations to Mr. Goodman following his appointment as the Acting Head of Health Training Institutions (HTI).
In a statement signed by National President Agbeti Immortal and General Secretary Alavi Robert Kobla, the union described the appointment as timely and strategic, noting that Mr. Goodman’s wealth of expertise and experience would be vital in reshaping nursing and midwifery education in the country.
“As the voice of trainee nurses and midwives, we are eager to collaborate with your office to drive meaningful change and address the pressing concerns of our members,” the leadership said. “Together, we can create a transformative impact on the nursing profession and healthcare delivery in Ghana.”
The UTNMG outlined three priority areas it seeks to partner with the new HTI leadership on:
Improving the quality of nursing education
Providing holistic support for trainee nurses and midwives
Building a nurturing learning environment that inspires innovation and growth
According to the union, the recent harmonization of tuition fees across all nursing training colleges was a major milestone and a foundation for future progress in the sector.
“We look forward to a dynamic and productive working relationship with your office. Your leadership and our collective efforts can revolutionize the nursing landscape in Ghana,” the statement added.
The UTNMG wished Mr. Goodman success in his new role and reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate with him to address challenges and advance healthcare training nationwide.
