A 60-year-old man, Mr. Isaac Kota Aziagbenu has met his untimely death after an unknown driver allegedly ran him over and left him unattended at Sapongso on the Twifo Praso to Wassa Ateiku road.
According to sources, the incident happened around 11 pm on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
Narrating the incident to newsmen, the Unit Committee Chairman of Wassa Ateiku, Mr. Emmanuel Quashie, said the incident was reported to him by a resident and immediately he and some other residents of Sapongso No.1 rushed to the scene and took the victim to the Ateiku Christian hospital for medical treatment.
However, around 6 am on Wednesday, a nurse at the Ateiku Christian Hospital called him to announce the death of the victim.
Mr. Emmanuel Quashie, together with his assemblyman, Frank Annor then reported the matter to the Ateiku Police while the body was deposited at Ateiku Christian morgue for preservation.
He is therefore pleading with the general public particularly those in Akwatia in the Eastern region and its environs that if anyone knows the family of Isaac Kota Aziagbenu who travelled to the Wassa enclave for the past 20 years to kindly inform them about this unfortunate incident.
Meanwhile, the Ateiku Police is currently investigating the incident to apprehend the driver.
