The Campaign Team of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has debunked claims suggesting that market women abandoned her at Winneba.
In a statement signed by James Agyenim-Boateng, the campaign spokesperson described the publication as false, baseless, and a figment of the fertile imagination of its author citing that, the party’s running mate had a successful engagement with the market women.
“For the records, Prof. Jane Opoku-Agyemang on Friday had a very successful campaign tour of Winneba in the Effutu constituency. She visited market women in their shops and stalls at the Winneba market, and interacted with shoppers and lorry drivers, amongst others, amidst cheers and encouragement from the public”, Agyenim-Boateng clarified.
He further added that, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang drove through some principal streets of Winneba and was given a rousing welcome.
“At the Winneba Lorry Station, Prof Opoku-Agyemang addressed a well-attended rally where she highlighted the benefits of the NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama’s 24-hour Economy policy as well as supporting about one million women in business through the upcoming Women’s Development Bank initiative”, he added.
Agyenim-Boateng further indicated that there was no point was the Member of Parliament for Effutu present at the same place and time that Prof Opoku-Agyemang was at the Winneba market, thus, urge Ghanaians to disregard such claims.
