Traders at Klo-Agogo Market in the Yilo Klobo Municipality of the Eastern Region have expressed much worry about the bad state of the market over the years, which is affecting the progress of their businesses.

According to the traders, due to the deplorable condition of the market, customers find it difficult to access the market, especially when it rains, to buy items, making business transactions very poor. The situation, they say, is really impacting negatively on the socio-economic progress of the area.

The Klo-Agogo Market is the biggest market in the Yilo Klobo Municipality and one of the most patronized market centers in the country, as several people from the length and breath of the throng come to the market twice every week.

All kinds of food stuffs from the surrounding villages are brought to the market in large quantities to help meet the food demand of the Urban areas and also raise a significant amount of revenue for the Yilo Klobo Municipal Assembly.

However, despite all the significant revenue contributions from the market to Assembly over the years, the market has not seen any facelift, and traders continue to operate in a very inhumane environment.

It is for this reason that the traders, in an interview with Nenebi Ayertey Rite FM, have appealed to the government to intervene and address the situation.

The Assembly Member of Agogo Electoral Area, Halord Kumah Kofi, who is popularly known as’ Yesu Mo, described the situation as unbearable, and several appeals to get the authorities to address the situation have not yielded any results.
