Floating Voters Association of Ghana, an association made up of Ghanaian eligible voters who are not affiliated to any political party, have expressed their concerns over Government’s failure to deal with the increasing corruption menace in the country.

In a statement signed by its executives, the association enumerated a lot of reasons why the Akufo-Addo led government is gradually losing the fight against corruption.

“The government of the day led by H.E. Nana Addo, the 5th administration of the 4th republic, who claim is committed to the eradication of corruption and sanitization of system has totally failed.

The government has pledge on numerous occasions to define its position in this voyage” it said.

According to the association, many directives and measures has been introduced by the president to ensure the victory of government in the fight against corruption but to no avail.

The group noted that the Office of the Special Prosecutor was ordained to support government’s position and to independently prosecute corrupt cases but many years have passed and corruption cases keep rising daily in the country.

The association says the police institution which is supposed to be a vital body to support government in the fight is most corrupt together with the Immigration Service of Ghana.

It also said, the Office of the Special Prosecutor has not been able to prosecute a single case for the country since it was introduced years ago while corruption is on the rise.

According to the Association, government’s inability to tackle the increasing corruption risk assessment is very alarming and therefore called for a comprehensive approach to address the problem.

“Government is definitely losing the fight against corruption since it’s supposed supportive bodies are not cooperating with the task”.

“Floating Voters Association will like to draw government attention to this fact and encourage government to reorganize itself in the fight against corruption”, it stated.
