Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh will commence work today as Ghana’s Energy Minister after receiving his Instrument of Office from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House last week Friday.

Dr. Prempeh popularly called ‘Napo’ is the immediate past Minister of Education, a position he held industriously and left a huge legacy as the government’s flagship policy, Free Senior High School (Free SHS) was rollout under his watch.

He succeeded in coming out with pragmatic steps to eradicate teething problems that came with the introduction of the Free SHS.
As a team leader and player, Dr. Prempeh drags both junior and senior staff along for delivery and best results.

With his impeccable human relationship, Dr. Prempeh is expected to leave another legacy at the Ministry of Energy with dedication and commitment to duty.
A Medical Doctor by profession, he was a surprise element to many in 2017 when he was named as the Minister of Education but he proved his sceptics wrong.

Dr. Prempeh is on record to be the only education minister who did not witness turbulent industrial front in the education sector because he was always in touch with educational workers to know how to improve the sector.

Players in the energy sector are upbeat about the new minister with the hope that he will deliver just like he did at the Ministry of Education.
