The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to hold its regional executive elections today, Saturday, August 15, as the party continues its internal reorganisation ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The elections will see delegates elect regional executives who will be responsible for overseeing the party’s activities and strengthening its structures at the regional level.
The polls form part of the NPP’s broader internal elections, which began with the polling station and constituency-level exercises.
The party has deployed national representatives to the various regions to supervise the process and ensure strict adherence to its approved electoral guidelines.
According to the party, the national representatives are expected to promote transparency and fairness during the elections and submit reports on the conduct of the polls, including any irregularities.
The NPP has also directed its Regional Executive Elections Committees to uphold professionalism and discipline throughout the exercise.
A number of aspirants are contesting various positions, including Regional Chairman, First and Second Vice Chairpersons, Secretary, Treasurer, Organiser, Women’s Organiser, Youth Organiser, Communications Officer and Nasara Coordinator.
The elections are expected to be closely watched as the party seeks to consolidate its structures and position itself ahead of the 2028 general elections.
The NPP is expected to announce the results of the various regional contests after the conclusion of voting and the collation of ballots.
